About this event

Spring Migration Birding!

Exploring Birds Walk

Please join us Sunday May 15th, 9 am -12 or whenever.
3-4 miles max, moving slowly.
Meet at the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge
Helen C. Fenske Visitor Center Pavilion on Pleasant Plains Road
Bathrooms available.

We will lead a leisurely walk down Pleasant Plains Road to discover and point out the Spring Migrants moving through, and any early Summer arrivals. Ducks, Turtles and Frogs may also make appearances.

For those of you who attended the Fall walk, this is the same format, but warmer, and with some different birds moving through.  Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, with its lush meadows, swamplands and open water pools offers some of the most inviting habitat for migratory birds to use as a way station to rest, stock up on energy and get ready to head on their way again.

Denise Soppas, Susan Garretson Friedman, Charlie Friedman and Charlie Neiss will once again be your guides. Bring any binoculars you have. We will have extras to borrow
as well.
