WESTERN SKI TRIP
TELLURIDE, COLORADO

Within the upcoming ski season Watchung’s Western ski trip will take us to Telluride, Colorado. Nestled in a box canyon surrounded by the San Juan mountains, Telluride is a perfect blend of pure mountain splendor, historical charm, world class skiing, and unsurpassable beauty.

A repeat of our 2002 trip, the prospect of going to Telluride attracted considerably more people than most trips. It was the biggest turnout we ever had—over fifty. Even our tour operator took the week off from her busy schedule and joined us with her family.

Telluride is not a large ski area, but it is well known for its expert terrain. The year prior to our 2002 trip the mountain was expanded by about 800 acres of intermediate terrain. During this past summer a new expansion on the back-side has begun to be developed. We hope and expect it will be ready when we arrive.

Telluride is quite a unique ski resort because the town is at the base of the mountain. We will be almost slope-side and close to the shops and restaurants in town.

Our lodging will be at the Victorian Inn, a quaint ‘Victorian’ style lodge in town within a short walk to the mountain transportation gondola, or to one of the two town ski lifts. Amenities include a daily continental breakfast, an outdoor hot tub, and a sauna. A six-day lift-pass is included; you may purchase a five-day pass for $40.00 less.

Air travel will be on Continental Airlines by a direct, ski-season only, flight from Newark to Montrose.
