Incoming President’s Message

With our Annual Banquet behind us, and the last runs of the 2008-2009 season in the rearview mirror, I’m sure most of us are now focusing on warm weather pursuits. Rest assured that despite the warm spring days, your Council is hard at work planning for next season.

In the meantime, there are many Club activities planned for the off-season. Some can help you stay in shape like the hiking and biking trips. And others are more likely to exercise only your arms, such as the Don Myers day at the track or Bobby and Ilene’s summer party. You probably just learned about the weekend at the Wildstein’s lake house which is likely to exercise both (knowing our club)! I also hear that the WASC dinner and cocktails at local restaurants will be coming back soon. I hope we will see many of you at these varied events, as schedules allow.

As you all know, the success of our club is built on the time, creativity, and energy of our members. To that end, the theme of this first message and my overall presidency is to get more of you more involved! I plan to try to inspire, encourage, cajole, badger, and just plain twist your collective arms to get you more engaged!

There are many ways to contribute to our Club. For example, you can chair or serve on one of the committees, lead a trip, help with the banquet, or help out at the Street Fairs, to name just a few. How much you do is up to you, but I am asking that everyone consider making a commitment to do something in support of our Club. The fact is there’s a lot more we can accomplish in each of the major areas if we pull together.

I’m asking each of you to review this form, fill in your name and choices, and then email (or U.S. mail, if you don’t have email) your response back to me by May 30th.

I look forward to seeing many of you over the summer, and to having a great 2009-2010 ski season!

Thank You,

Mark
