YOUNGER WASC MEMBER
GOES TO MOUNT HOOD

July 15 - 28, 2007

One of Watchung Amateur Ski Club’s younger members, Rob Anderson, travels to Oregon to ski in the summer time. You know, not too many people know that you can continue to ski in the summer time, but I found this great mountain on the West Coast called Mount Hood. I decided to book a trip, fly out, and give it a shot. Turns out, it is one of the best decisions that I have made.
Yes. I will admit, the first year that I visited Mount Hood, I called up the camp that I was planning on going to several times. My main question was, “Is there really any snow out there when the temperatures are seemingly over 100 degrees out there?” Their answer was always yes and sure enough, they were right.
I’ve been doing this for 2 years now and am having a better time every time I go. I went for 1 week the first year. It wasn’t nearly enough. The second year I went for 2 weeks and had a blast.
There are a few things, specifically related to the camp that I go to, Mount Hood Summer Ski Camps, that I really love. How about white water rafting mid-afternoon after a day of skiing. Maybe Mountain Biking or even Cliff Jumping. It’s just a great experience. Anyone whoever says no to Mount Hood, is really missing out BIG time. Anyway, if you end up wanting to check it out, its all at MT HOOD SUMMER SKI CAMPS. I even wrote a testimonial at Testimonials. Check it out. You’ll be glad you did.
