The first 2011 WASC bike ride was a "rolling" success. Mark Mintz, our ride leader, couldn't have ordered more perfect weather or planned a more peaceful route with his choice of the Millstone River Road and Canal Road Loop. Eleven WASC representatives met at the Central Jersey Airport in Manville to begin a beautifully shaded and peaceful 15 mile ride. After dodging incoming aircraft, we followed a flat/mildly rolling route that Mark described as green/blue in skier's terms with minimal traffic. This group of riders with a mixture of riding experience and skills handled the terrain well. (Are WASC bike shirts an addition to our wardrobes in the future?)

This is the second year WASC has been out biking. Most of this group rode together last year. With two other rides currently planned for this summer, there is plenty of opportunity for others to join in. Be sure to check the website, facebook, and e-mail for information on these upcoming rides and other WASC activities currently in the works along with the summer social meetings.
